Snow in Lugano

Si, da vero! Yes, it's true! We had snow in Lugano today. We woke up this morning our first day after the official end of school for the semester, and David actually said, "I keep thinking one of these days we'll wake up, look outside, and see snow on the ground." Since both of our parents are experiencing major snow in the Northeast, we're actually a little jealous! But then we went outside with the dogs - it was really snowing! Of course, this is the southern-Ticino version of snowing, but we'll take what we can get! This is the building where we live (and eat since it's also the dining hall).

The snow really wasn't sticking/laying (take your pick depending on your area of the country...) very well on the ground at first, but a friend and I were so tempted by the snow that was on the tables, we made snow angels.

Here's the view from our window - the one I posted several times at the beginning of the school year. Mountains? What mountains? Also notice the palm tree... that was an odd sight today.

We also went downtown today to the Lugano Christmas Market - some very pretty crafts and things, and as usual, roasted chestnuts, vin brule (mulled wine) and lots of cheeses, meats, homemade liquors, etc. There is a gigantic tree in the middle of the main Piazza - here we are! I also had to include these photos of Lucy and Logan chewing some pre-Christmas presents from my Mom and Steve. Keep in mind this is Logan's "after" picture. And so, as you can see, it was also snowing inside today in Lugano.
